Being stigmatized and discriminated for who
you are is one of the worst things in life that could happen to an individual.
Transgender people all over the world face this dilemma. In India, most of the
transgender people suffer this throughout their life everyday in one way or
other. Owing to the non acceptance of the family, lack of education and the
high stigma and ignorance that prevails in the society, most transgender resort
to begging and sex work for their daily livelihood.
We, SOURCED, as a HR consulting firm train
transgender dispersed in different parts of India to become able to stand at
equal levels with the two other genders and work as efficiently, innovatively
and creatively as they can. We provide a platform for them to build their
personality and also their entrepreneurial skills.
For now our main objective is to make sure
that the LGBT community is included in the workplace and given equal treatment.
For this our trainings and tie up with companies will help them establish
themselves and build their identity. Many companies now have built HR policies
for the inclusiveness of transgender. In such a scenario, we help to address
the society by making sure that the transgender get jobs and become a part of
an office environment. Our organization provides inventory management, training
for maintaining the security of the premises and doing this by circulating
amongst visitors, patrons and employees to preserve order and protect property.
We are using the “fear” instilled in people for transgender against them.
We provide the trainings at minimum cost
and then provide them job where we already have contact with. They have to work
in the company for 3 months after the training as internship and then the
company decides on retaining the employees on permanent basis. However, if they
are not selected to continue, we ensure to place them for jobs at other place.
Objectives of our firm:
- To make sure that the transgender issue is addressed in India.
- To make sure transgender are included in the work place as equal collogues.
- To be able to change the HR policies of organizations for inclusiveness of transgender.
- To make sure that people with skills and a thirst for a dignified life are not denied opportunities.
- To ensure transgender right to be employed; it is one of the basic human rights that should not be violated showing their gender identity as a reason.
